Pneumonia, drugs caused Brittany Murphy’s death
The death of the actress was reportedly caused by pneumonia, according to a coroner’s report.
Los Angeles (WiredPRNews.com) – The death of 32 year-old actress Brittany Murphy was reportedly caused by pneumonia. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), an assistant chief coroner stated on Thursday that the health condition, prescription drugs, and anemia were factors in the star’s death.
As noted in the report, Murphy died on December 20. Her family reportedly stated that she exhibited flu-like symptoms prior to her death, and was taking prescription medications but did not abuse them as some rumors had suggested.
Former New York City chief medical examiner Dr. Michael Baden is quoted by the AP as stating of the case, “One doesn’t die of pneumonia, usually, that quickly… It sounds more like it’s a drug-related than a natural pulmonary pneumonia.”
