Saints take Superbowl win
The New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 at Super Bowl XLIV.
Miami (WiredPRNews.com) – The New Orleans Saints were victorious in their first ever NFL Championship on Sunday. The team defeated the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 in their first Super Bowl appearance in its history, taking home the title of Super Bowl XLIV champions.
The Saints began the first half of the game behind the Colts, but picked up speed after what was deemed a game changing interception of a pass thrown by Peyton Manning by Saints defensive back Tracy Porter.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees was named game MVP. Brees told reporters after the game, “ We played for so much more than ourselves. We played for our city…We played for the entire Who Dat nation.”
Saints coach Sean Payton also stated to reporters of the epic win, “I couldn’t be more proud of our players…we’re excited to deliver.”
