Pitt and Jolie file lawsuit against tabloid
The couple have reportedly begun legal proceedings over a claim of a purported impending split.
London (WiredPRNews.com) – Actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have taken legal action against a tabloid that claimed they were splitting up. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the couple is suing British tabloid the News of the World, alleging it made false assertions about a separation agreement between them.
Keith Schillings, of London-based Schillings lawyers, is quoted by the AP as stating of the legal proceedings, “The News of the World has failed to meet our clients’ reasonable demands for a retraction of and apology for these false and intrusive allegations which have now been widely republished by mainstream news outlets. We have advised them to bring proceedings which they have now done.”
As noted in the report, News of the World is the highest selling tabloid in Britain.
