Democratic candidates for Texas governor Houston businessman Farouk Shami and former Houston Mayor Bill White debated one another this week.

Two Democratic candidates for Texas Governor debated this week.

Dallas (WiredPRNews.com) – Two Democratic candidates running for Texas governor engaged in a televised debate this week. As reported by CBS 11 News, the debate will be the only for the candidates, Houston businessman Farouk Shami and former Houston Mayor Bill White, who both promised to focus on job creation in the state.

Shami is quoted in the report as stating of his intentions, “I’m guaranteeing 100,000 jobs in the first two years or I will give the state $10 million dollars - I’m putting my money where my mouth is.”

White is further quoted in the report as stating of his ideas about how to create jobs, “We need to do a better job with matching community colleges and job training with jobs actually there and we need to do that for older workers, not just younger workers.”
