Race restrictions part of Texas house deeds

Several homes in Texas come with deeds that restrict use of the properties by races other than Caucasian.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Many house deeds in Texas reportedly have race restrictions on them. As reported by NBC DFW News, the restrictions are unenforceable; however, are estimated to be in wording for tens of thousands of home deeds throughout Dallas and other areas.
Tony Mendina, who found such a restriction in the deed of a home he purchased in East Dallas, is quoted in the report as stating of the finding, “It’s sad; it’s just really sad… We have a great neighborhood here now, and it’s sad to think it was less great in the past.”
Medina is further quoted as stating of not wanting the wording removed, “It’s actually kind of good it’s still there where you can see it… When you visit a Holocaust museum or Pearl Harbor there are warnings, ‘Never again. Don’t let this happen again.”
