A Top Performing Dealer For a Top Performing Car
Co-operative Motor Group Derby offers one of the UK’s most efficient and economical high-performance motors
As fuel prices creep back up above the £1.10 per litre level – marking a rise of more than a quarter in the last year - the quest for a car which offers maximum fuel efficiency and driving enjoyment with minimum compromise becomes ever keener.
And buyers with one eye on their wallets can find the perfect balance between these factors in the Mazda3 MPS.
A fully-fledged ‘hot hatch’, with a 2.3-litre turbocharged engine producing 260PS, the Mazda3 MPS nevertheless achieves fuel consumption figures which would make many of its rivals – and lots of less brawny competitors – green with envy.
There’s extra good news for would-be Mazda3 MPS buyers in the East Midlands too, because the car is now available from Co-operative Motor Group Derby car dealers.
The showroom on Sir Frank Whittle Way – formerly Sunwin Motors – is one of a select handful of Mazda outlets accredited to sell this class-leading car, which is proving a winner with buyers who appreciate a car with ‘zoom-zoom’ which is also far more frugal than many of its direct rivals.
Official fuel consumption figures for the Mazda 3MPS are 21.4mpg around town, 37.7mpg on the extra-urban cycle, and an overall combined figure of 29.4mpg.
The latest Mazda3 MPS, released late in 2009, also has a 3 per cent lower CO2 emissions figure than its predecessor, qualifying it for a lower road tax band, which saves all owners an extra £25 a year.
And on a recent economy test, a Mazda3 MPS, driven by motoring journalist Iain Robertson, led the field home on a gruelling two-day cross-country drive, when he managed to better the car’s official fuel consumption figure by more than 43 per cent – proving that, when driven responsibly, the car can help owners save on more than just the cost of their tax disc.
Rick Sandhu, Mazda’s dealer principal at The Co-operative Motor Group Derby, said: “The Mazda3 MPS keeps on surprising the motoring press and happy owners alike with its unbeatable blend of power and economy.
“We’re proud to be able to offer the car to keen buyers across the East Midlands, and equally delighted that Mazda has judged that the quality of the service given by everyone in our team is worthy of the accolade of being an approved MPS dealer.
“It means our customers can be sure of a new or used cars buying experience which, like the Mazda3 MPS, makes no compromise in its quest for excellence.”
