McQueen death leaves questions about brand’s future
Many question who will succeed Alexander McQueen after his sudden death.
Rome (WiredPRNews.com) – Many are questioning the fate of the late designer Alexander McQueen’s brand following his sudden death. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), some have expressed doubts about his company being able to continue to thrive without his direct influence.
British fashion editor Jessica Brown is quoted by the AP as stating of McQueen’s work, “It is a very powerful brand, but it’s almost impossible to separate him from it… Creating those show-stopping pieces — there isn’t anyone who does that. And he has exceptional skills as a cutter, because of his background in tailoring.”
As noted in the report, some brands such as that of Gianni Versace have continued to do well following the death of their designers.
McQueen is quoted by the AP as stating in a prior interview of hopes that his legacy will continue after his death, “When I’m dead, hopefully this house will still be going.”
