Houston, Texas (Mesothelioma Cancer News) - A Colorado man accused of violations in an asbestos fraud case has been arrested in Houston. As reported by The Denver Post, James Robert Soyars, Jr. was arrested early Wednesday in connection with a case involving improper asbestos removal from three businesses that was later stored in a public storage facility.
As noted in the report, Soyars, who owns and operates Talon Environmental Inc., was indicted last week after being accused of violating the Clean Air Act. Soyars’ abatement company was hired for asbestos removal from several buildings, including a car dealership and a bowling alley, in Colorado that were being renovated. He allegedly instructed his employees to place the asbestos taken from the buildings in a facility that was not authorized for receipt of the toxic mineral.
