Researchers find way to shake cancer cells to death

Scientists have reportedly found a new and unconventional means of fighting brain cancer that shows promise.
U.S. (WiredPRNewws.com) – Researchers have reportedly found a potential new weapon in the battle against brain cancer; a technique that allows for shaking cancer cells to death. As reported by LiveScience.com, although it is in the early stages of development, the method which involves the use of tiny discs that target cancer cells, shows promise.
Valentyn Novosad, a materials scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, is quoted in the report as stating of the treatment alternative, “We are very excited about this melding of materials and life sciences, but we are still in the very early research stages… We are planning to begin testing in animals soon, but we are several years away from human trials. Everything is still experimental.”
More information about the technique may be available in the current edition of the Nature Materials journal.
