The expansion of I-35 may force some Lewisville businesses to move.
Lewisville, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – The expansion of I-35 may reportedly affect several businesses in Lewisville. As reported by NBC DFW News, The Texas Department of Transportation expansion plans is expected to force some profitable businesses in the area to move.
Nika Reinecke, the city’s director of economic development and planning, is quoted in the report as stating of the issue, “Some buildings will be impacted, and the highway department — TxDOT — will be acquiring those properties at market value.”
As noted by NBC DFW News, many are hoping the affected businesses can still remain in the city. The city is reportedly seeking ways to provide incentives to business owners to relocate within the city limits. Reinecke is further quoted as stating, “There’s going to be a lot of available properties on I-35.”
