Developer seeks to renovate hotel for homeless

A developer is seeking support for renovation plans for an old hotel.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A developer is seeking support for renovation plans for an old hotel in Dallas. As reported by NBC DFW News, Developer Larry Hamilton has received approval from city leaders, and is now seeking community support for plans to turn a Ramada Plaza Hotel into housing for the homeless.
Mayor Tom Leppert is quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “We need to make sure that there is community approval… If there’s not community approval, it won’t go forward.”
Hamilton is further quoted as stating of the renovation project, “It doesn’t resemble a skid row in any way, shape or form… It’s managed beautifully; that’s what we want to do there.”
A community vote is reportedly set to take place on Thursday.
