Twitter encourages user updates
Twitter is encouraging users to provide updated information for their accounts.
San Francisco (WiredPRNews.com) – Twitter is requesting that users provide updates of their personal information for their accounts. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the popular social networking site has delivered the request via a pop up that appears when users log in.
As noted by the AP, the updates will reportedly provide more ways in which people can connect on Twitter. Users are encouraged to allow search index access to their cell phone numbers and email addresses. However, the site has stated that it will continue to protect the privacy of user information, and not publicly display the phone numbers and email addresses.
As further noted in the report, Twitter reportedly had over 73 million users of the site in January. The growth purportedly presents a challenge when tracking others on the site.
