Three crewmembers on a cruise liner in Egypt have been reported dead after an accident.
Egypt (WiredPRNews.com) – Three crewmembers aboard a luxury cruise liner reportedly died after a docking accident on Friday. As reported by the AP, the ship, which was reportedly carrying 1,500 passengers at the time of the accident, hit the pier and began leaking on one side after.
Costa Crociera, owner of the vessel, is quoted by the AP as stating of the accident early Friday morning, “We sadly have to confirm the deaths of 3 crew members… The ship is now safely docked in port.”
As noted in the report, the accident was attributed inclement weather. The ship had reportedly been on a cruise for several days from Dubai. Arrangements were subsequently made for the other passengers for their return home.
