Palo Alto, California (WiredPRNews.com) – Facebook is reportedly planning to begin allowing users to share locations with friends. As reported by NewsFactor.com, the site is expected to join the ranks of others that offer services that are location based.
As noted in the report, in addition to location services, the site may also make related application programming interfaces available for third-party developers seeking to include location based features in the Facebook applications they produce.
As further noted in the report, Facebook has yet to discuss details about the service publicly. Meredith Chin, a spokesperson for Facebook, is quoted in the report as stating via email, “We are constantly experimenting with new ideas and products internally… We don’t have anything more to share at this time.”
