Dallas News - Conan O’Brien tour headed to SMU

The university will be included as a stop on the former late night talk show host’s tour.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Former late night talk show host and comedian Conan O’Brien is planning a 30 city theater tour after his departure from “The Tonight Show.” As reported by the Associated Press (AP), O’Brien is set to include Southern Methodist University in Dallas on the list of stops during his “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour,” which is set to begin April 12 in Oregon. The SMU stop at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium is scheduled for May 13.
O’Brien is quoted by the AP as joking about deciding to do the tour following the controversy surrounding his talk show replacement, “It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house.”
As noted in the report, Andy Richter and the former band of the “Tonight Show” are set to accompany O’Brien on the tour.
