NASHVILLE,TN – “Theres no Hip-Hop talent in Nashville.” Says who? Says the Urban Record Labels located in the BIG CITIES. However Coko Korinne, the Founder and Creator of the Soundtrack Beat Battle begs to differ. “I took it upon myself to start the Soundtrack Beat Battle just so I can make the non-believers eat their words…and since this beat battle has launched…the music industry reps have been blown away” says Coko.
The Soundtrack Beat Battle is presenting local producers, singers, songwriters, rappers, DJ’s, and dancers with the golden opportunity of working with major artists and record labels. The Soundtrack Beat Battle is an event where hip hop producers hit the stage and go head-to-head by presenting their best beats to an audience filled with artists, managers, music supervisors and A&R representatives. In conjunction with Big Fish Audio, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Myhitonline.com- the Soundtrack Beat Battle will award the Grand Prize Winner with $2,500 worth of music gear, free online music subscriptions and a trip to LA to have a pitch meeting with the VP of Urban A&R at Sony/ATV.
Being one of the first beat battles to ever hit the state of Tennessee, this event is already getting nationwide and international attention. There are producers flying in from Canada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Minnesota and Ohio to be apart of this event. The judges panel has been filled with big time Hip Hop managers, established producers and scouts from Universal and Warner Music Group. Even Michael McCary from Boyz II Men was a judge in the last battle and stated, “I’ve been to beat battles in Miami, LA and New York and none of them has compared to this”.
The next event will be held March 26, 2010 at Rocketown located 401 Sixth Avenue South Nashville, TN. 37203. Starting at seven o’clock in the evening, the Soundtrack Beat Battle will give local musicians the chance to perform during intermission and to pitch their music to artists such as John Legend, Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson and 50 Cent.
