A pharmaceutical salesman was killed after being struck by a plane on Monday.
South Carolina (WiredPRNews.com) – A pharmaceutical salesman was killed after being struck by a plane while jogging on Monday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Robert Gary Jones was hit by plane from behind as it tried to make an emergency landing.
Jones was reportedly listening to his iPod at the time of the accident. Ed Allen, a coroner for Beaufort County on the South Carolina coast, is quoted by the AP as stating of his not being able to hear the plane, “There’s no noise… So the jogger, with his ear buds in, and the plane without an engine, you’re basically a stealth aircraft. Who would expect to look up?”
As noted in the report, Jones, 38, was on a business trip and set to return home this week for the third birthday of his daughter.
