Black people ordered to leave N.J. Walmart
An announcer at a Walmart in New Jersey ordered black people to leave the store.
Washington Township, N.J. (WiredPRNews.com) – Many were left angered after an announcement on a Walmart public address system in New Jersey called for all black people to leave the store. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), an unidentified male addressed store patrons Sunday with the comment, “Attention, Walmart customers: All black people, leave the store now,” which prompted a manager to quickly intervene.
As noted in the report, Walmart executives apologized for the incident Wednesday as some shoppers expressed intentions to boycott the store until the issue is properly addressed. Shopper Patricia Covington is quoted by the AP as stating of the matter, “I depended on Walmart for all my needs, because the store has pretty much everything you could want… but until this issue is addressed in a way I’m comfortable with, I can’t walk through those doors again.”
As further noted in the report, Walmart officials continue to investigate the incident.
