Complaints brought over fixed Toyotas
A number of complaints have been made about problems with Toyotas believed to have been fixed after massive recalls.
Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – Several complaints have reportedly been brought over repaired Toyotas involved in the automaker’s massive recall. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), over 100 complaints have been made regarding sudden acceleration issues on the vehicles over the past weeks.
David Strickland, Administrator for The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is quoted in the report as stating that “several instances in which a dealer made mistakes in applying one of the recall remedies” have been found.
Diane Steed, a former NHTSA administrator, is quoted by the AP as stating of the safety issues, “It’s really an engineering judgment call… The real challenge is not so much the numbers but digging to get to the bottom of what is the problem.”
