Police send illegal drugs to store by mistake

Dallas police send over 100 bags of illegal drugs to a store by mistake.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A Dallas store employee found over 100 bags of illegal drugs that had been sent to them by mistake last week. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the 123 bags of the drugs were shipped to CityStore, where patrons can purchase merchandise from city departments, by the Dallas Police Department Property Unit by accident.
Sgt. Warren Mitchell, a spokesperson for the department, is quoted in the report as stating of the incident, “It was a terrible oversight… We’re going to see where we went wrong and try to fix that problem… The property room immediately went over there and retrieved a file cabinet of the drugs, and they weighed each bag and each bag weighed the same that was listed on there.”
As noted in the report, officials say there was never public contact with the drugs.
