A recent survey suggests young people in Britain prefer advice from the web to that of parents and friends.

A recent survey suggests people in Britain under the age 25 prefer online advice.

London (WiredPRNews.com) – A recent survey suggests many young individuals in Britain seek online help for personal issues as opposed to advice from parents. As reported by Reuters, the survey showed that ninety percent of survey respondents who were under the age of 25 reported to the Get Connected free national helpline that they had gone online for dealing with a personal issue.

As noted in the report, one third expressed they would seek advice from their mother, and half of respondents stated they would seek it from a friend. Andrew McKnight, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Get Connected is quoted by Reuters as stating of the findings, “As a society we have become increasingly reliant on the Internet as a first point of reference for a lot of information, and it is crucial that we make Britain’s young people aware of exactly where they can turn to for dependable information and support.”
