Man rescued by brothers after fatal crash

Two brothers rescued a man involved in a Lewisville plane crash on Thursday.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – Two brothers rescued a man involved in a fatal plane crash in Lewisville on Thursday. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Johnny and Nathan Hopkins pulled the man from the water after witnessing his plane crash on the water close to Stewart Peninsula Park in The Colony.
Johnny Hopkins is quoted by the Dallas Morning News as stating of the plane, which flipped upside down in the water, “It went down in about 20 seconds.”
As noted in the report, a female passenger in the plane reportedly did not survive the accident. The wreck will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. Lynn Lunsford, a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration, is quoted in the report as stating of the investigation, “The investigation will be looking to determine a number of things, including whether the plane was properly configured for landing in the water.”
