Anna Nicole Smith estate loses court battle

The estate of the late entertainer lost a court appeal Friday.
San Francisco - (WiredPRNews.com) – An appeals court has ruled that the estate of the late Anna Nicole Smith is not entitled to any portion of her late husband’s estate. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found in favor of a Houston jury who cited a will leaving most of his $1.6 billion fortune to his son E. Pierce Marshall, which made no mention of Smith, should stand.
As noted in the report, Smith previously stated her elderly Texas billionaire husband promised to leave her over $300 million; however no documentation reportedly existed to validate that claim. Eric Brunstad, an attorney for the Marshall family, is quoted in the report as stating of the previous probate court decision, “Every piece of evidence was considered and every witness exhaustively examined… That really should have been the end of it.”
