A new survey suggests higher Facebook news reader loyalty than that for Google News.
U.S. (WiredPRNews.com) – A recent survey suggests high loyalty among Facebook news readers. As reported by NewsFactor.com, the Hitwise survey shows the social networking site has a more loyal readership than Google News.
As noted in the report, the survey found that 78 percent of users revisited the site for news during the sampled week in March versus 67 percent of readers of Google News who returned. Heather Hopkins, a Hitwise senior online market analyst, is quoted by Reuters as stating of the relevance of the findings, “A few weeks ago when I posted my blog entry about Facebook being the largest news reader, I received a few comments and emails noting that visitors aren’t as valuable if they don’t come back… Advertisers and retailers need some assurance that visitors will return again and again.”
