The massive legislation on health care reform has been signed into law.
Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – President Barack Obama officially signed sweeping health care legislation into law on Tuesday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the signing of the measure for a health care overhaul, designed to provide access to health coverage for every American, comes after over a year of partisan battling over implementation of the outlined changes.
Obama is quoted by the AP as stating at a celebration of the bill’s passage two days prior, “Our presence here today is remarkable and improbable… With all the punditry, all of the lobbying, all the game-playing that passes for governing in Washington, it’s been easy at times to doubt our ability to do such a big thing, such a complicated thing.”
Obama is further quoted as stating, “After a century of striving, after a year of debate, after a historic vote, health care reform is no longer an unmet promise. It is the law of the land.”
