Three of the most popular sites online experienced outages recently.
U.S (WiredPRNews.com) – Three of the most popular sites online experienced recent outages that caused them to temporarily go off-line. As reported by NewsFactor.com, YouTube and Wikipedia were off-line on Thursday and Twitter experienced an outage last week.
Rob Enderle, principal analyst at the Enderle Group is quoted in the report as stating of the outages that left users without access to the three sites for a short time period, “You get these waves on the web that you can’t really plan for, and invariably they run into outages… This should remind us that Internet technology is still fairly young, and yet it’s being asked to perform in line with our electrical grid and utilities. In most cases it actually does surprisingly well, but it does mean we are going to see outages.”
