The social networking site is changing the way users connect to celebrities and brands.
New York (WiredPRNews.com) – Popular social networking site Facebook is changing the way users can link up with celebrities and brands. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), users will be asked to “like” particular celebrities or brands as opposed to formerly being asked to “become a fan of” of them.
As noted in the report, Facebook users already have the option to “like” comments and other posts of friends. The feature will reportedly be changed to facilitate more connections to celebrity or brand pages.
Michael Lazerow, CEO of Buddy Media, is quoted by the AP as stating of the feature being a more comfortable way for users to link to these pages, “The idea of liking a brand is a much more natural action than (becoming a fan) of a brand… In many ways it’s a lower threshold.”
