The bodies of four missing miners have been found following a deadly explosion.
Montcoal, W.Va. (WiredPRNews.com) – The bodies of four miners reported missing following a recent deadly West Virginia mine explosion have been recovered. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), officials announced that rescue workers found the bodies of the mine workers at Upper Big Branch Mine early Saturday morning, bringing the total number of individuals who died in the mining disaster to 29.
Gov. Joe Manchin is quoted by the AP as stating of the grim discovery, “We did not receive the miracle that we prayed for… So this journey has ended and now the healing will start.”
As noted in the report, officials are expected to now turn their focus on the recovery of bodies that have yet to be taken out of the mine.
