As reported by Reuters, the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and mobile phone entertainment production company Mudlark are putting a unique spin on “Romeo and Juliet” in a new version to be unfolded on Twitter and YouTube over the the span of five weeks.
As noted in the report, the production will involve actors playing out a storyline through tweets, with audience interaction being a component as well. Charles Hunter from Mudlark is quoted by Reuters as stating of anticipation for the unique online production, “We have no real idea of what the next five weeks will bring, but we are holding onto our seatbelts.”
