AUSTIN, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) April 22, 2010–JB Goodwin Realtor, Rocky Breon, is onboard with the new Capital MetroRail Red Line that opened just less than a month ago. “The addition of the commuter rail creates additional economical transportation options for Leander and Cedar Park residents who work in Austin,” says Breon.

Breon, a JB Goodwin real estate agent in the greater Austin area, says the new 32-mile MetroRail line between Leander and the Austin Convention Center will make living in Leander and Cedar Park a more feasible option for individuals who commute and work in downtown Austin area.

The trip from Leander to the final stop in Austin takes about one hour, according to CapMetro’s website. Free Wi-Fi allows people to work or surf the internet as they ride.

The line operates in the morning and afternoon hours and has nine stations between Leander and downtown Austin. There are six southbound and three northbound trips between the hours of 5:25 a.m. and 9:25 a.m., and six northbound and four southbound trips running from 3:45–7:42 p.m.

A five-day pass costs $20, while a one-way fare is $3. Capital Metro is also looking at plans to increase the hours of operation and frequency of service on the line, according to its website.

“Thanks to the addition of MetroRail people are going to see that owning a home in Cedar Park or Leander while working in Austin is viable and economical, especially if gas keeps creeping up, and it’s less stressful since passengers can just relax on the way home from work instead of fighting through miles and miles of rush-hour traffic,” Breon concludes.
