A majority of home value reappraisals in the county have been shown to have decreased or remained the same as last year.
Dallas, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A majority of homes reappraised in Dallas County have reportedly declined in value or remain the same as last year. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Dallas Central Appraisal District data found that only 20 percent of those homes were shown to have increased in value, while 60 percent show a decrease, and 20 percent hold the same value.
Cheryl Jordan, spokeswoman for the appraisal district, is quoted in the report as stating of the market findings, “The market is not as bad as last year. But we’re still seeing the lingering effects of foreclosures.”
As noted in the report, appraisal notices are set to be mailed in the next two weeks.
