Some fans of the former Alaska governor have expressed discontentment with her endorsement for the U.S. Senate California GOP primary.
Anchorage, Alaska (WiredPRNews.com) – Some Sarah Palin fans have become incensed by the former Alaska governor’s recent endorsement for the California GOP primary for the U.S. Senate. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), many Palin supporters on Facebook requested that she change her endorsement of former Hewlett-Packard executive Carly Fiorina after she announced it on the site.
Palin is quoted by the AP as stating of Fiorina, “She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military and pro-strict border security and against amnesty… Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the (National Rifle Association), has a 100 percent NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners.”
As noted in the report, some view the endorsement as a betrayal to tea party supporters who are backing Chuck DeVore. Dawn Wildman, with the San Diego-based Southern California Tax Revolt Coalition, is quoted by the AP as stating, “I think most of us see Palin as a company girl now, meaning the GOP… For her to endorse Fiorina wasn’t terribly shocking. I think what’s more interesting is that Palin tries to suggest she aligns herself with the tea party movement but is clearly out of touch with what the tea party movement is saying in California.”
