Valley Reed is following her dreams by launching the Southwest School of Active Dreaming at Kekino Institute of Healing in Plano, Texas beginning June 1st, 2001. The dream school will offer classes on Active Dreaming, a pioneer method of conscious dreaming developed by Robert Moss. Moss, originally from Australia and now living in New York, travels the world giving workshops on Active Dreaming. He has written many books on the subject and currently has a release out entitled “Dreamgates: Exploring the Worlds of Soul, Imagination, and Life Beyond Death”.
Ms. Reed is a trained certified teacher of Active Dreaming and has studied with Robert Moss over the past 10 years. She says, “I am thrilled to bring Active Dreaming to North Texas because dream sharing is a lost art and forgotten amongst our broader community. We all dream and it is something we spend a great deal of our lives doing, certainly we could pay more mind to what goes on in our dreams.”
The Southwest Dream School will teach students how to reconnect with their dreams and even learn how to consciously enter dream spaces, the school will also offer classes focused on families and teaches them how to share dreams together. Ms. Reed has developed the practice of dream sharing in her own family since her children were old enough to talk. She finds dream sharing builds bonds of trust that bring a whole new level communication into families. “When my daughter was four years old she kept having a repetitive night mares and was frightened to go to sleep one night. She told me her dream and described being chased by zombies each night. I suggested she ask those zombies in her dreams why they where chasing her. She promised to do so and the next morning she came running in all excited saying she had the dream again, only this time she asked the zombies why they were chasing her, they told her they wanted her to turn them into butterflies! She did just that and saw them transform into beautiful butterflies before her eyes.” In our dreams we see our fears, which may be chasing us but also our gifts and potential. Conscious dreaming teaches students how to deal with their fears in an empowering way and also accept your gifts with wisdom.
