Two people on board a CareFlite helicopter were killed in a crash on Wednesday.
Midlothian, Texas – Two people aboard a CareFlite helicopter were killed when it crashed and caught fire on Wednesday. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, the accident occurred in Midlothian during a test flight after maintenance work had been performed on the aircraft.
The accident reportedly occurred around 2:15 near Highway 67 and Wyatt Road. Midlothian Deputy Fire Chief Dale McCaskill is quoted by the Dallas Morning News as stating of responding to the scene, “We immediately started to extinguish the fire, but there were no survivors… The wreckage is pretty entangled.”
As noted in the report, the two individuals killed in the crash were reportedly a pilot and a mechanic. CareFlite is quoted in the report as releasing the statement, “We ask that you keep the families of those killed, and of all first responders in your prayers.”
