President Barack Obama has pledged to garner support for new energy legislation as efforts continue in finding a means to stop the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. As reported by Reuters, Obama stated Wednesday that he would seek support from the Senate for a bill that would change policies for energy in the United States, proposing an end to tax breaks for oil companies.
Obama is quoted in the report as stating of the bill, “The votes may not be there right now, but I intend to find them in the coming months…I will continue to make the case for a clean energy future wherever and whenever I can. I will work with anyone to get this done. And we will get it done.”
