A woman has filed a lawsuit against Google after being hit by a car. As reported by SearchEngineLand.com, the woman, Lauren Rosenberg, filed the suit after purportedly following walking directions provided on Google Maps and being struck by a vehicle. The person who hit her, Patrick Harwood, has also been named in the suit.
The case, which was filed in the U.S. District Court of Utah, Central Division, is quoted in the report as stating, “Defendant Google, through its “Google Maps” service provided Plaintiff Lauren Rosenberg with walking directions that led her out onto Deer valley Drive, a.k.a. State Route 224, a rural highway with no sidewalks, and a roadway that exhibits motor vehicles traveling at high speeds, that is not reasonably safe for pedestrians.”
