Fort Worth, Texas – A special website has been created to enlist the support of Fort Worth citizens in balancing the city’s budget. As reported by KERA News, the website requests the input of residents with regards to how to balance the budget for next year, taking into consideration the city’s $77 million deficit.
Budget officer Horatio Porter is quoted in the report as stating of the website, “It’s a really pretty neat tool that gives you a chance to make decision or provide your suggestions on how we could close the budget gap… Obviously it won’t be scientific because we won’t be guaranteed we get representation from the entire city. But those who do participate, we will make sure we take that into consideration.”
