ProjectFranchise.org Launches In Beta Giving Fans Actual Control Over Their Favorite Team
Los Angeles, Ca (WiredPRNews.com): Project Franchise today announces the open launch of its beta website www.projectfranchise.org, a unique, interactive online portal dedicated to letting sports fans actually make the management decisions for a real world professional team. Built on the concept that the “customer is always right”, Project Franchise is combining the best of fantasy sports with the excitement of an actual franchise, while giving fans the ability to live out the ultimate sports dream.
“So much of what is done in pro sports in the US is focused on corporate support and short term financial considerations, but very rarely do teams actually take into account what their customers – the fans – want to see,” says Project Franchise co-founder Joe Scura. “We are literally changing the game, by giving our fans the ability to help build our team from the ground up. We believe by doing this, we not only create the perfect fan experience – win or lose – but we will also actually ensure a better economic model for our team as it will be founded on giving the customer the product they want.”
Anyone can join the interactive fan base at ProjectFranchise.org, then establish a profile and begin voting on all of the major decisions that are normally handled by a team’s General Manager. The first vote allows fans to select the type of sport in which Project Franchise should buy a team. Once a decision has been made by the fans, the Project Franchise Team Captains will execute on their wishes and provide detailed research so that they are fully informed for the next big vote. In addition, the fans are encouraged to nominate ideas and options for new voting topics and decisions. Future votes will include everything from the team mascot and logo, to what players make the squad and are in the starting line-up, to what type of food and drinks are served in the concession stands.
In addition to the new projectfranchise.org site, the group also operates a blog on the SB Nation network at www.FrontOfficeFans.com, which provides updates on the Project’s status, as well as insight on the big stories in sports as seen through the eyes of the sports fan.
In conjunction with the launch of their beta site, Project Franchise is releasing the first line of Fan Fits – a clothing and merchandise line dedicated to giving fans a refreshing way to support their favorite teams. The initial Fan Fits product line coincides with the basketball playoffs and the first half of the major league baseball season, and is available now at www.fan-fits.com. All proceeds from Fan Fits sales will go towards the purchase of the crowd run team that is the backbone of Project Franchise.
