Los Angeles – Actress Amanda Bynes recently announced her retirement from acting via Twitter. As reported by Access Hollywood, the 24 year-old star, who’s had television roles on the WB and Nickelodeon networks as well as appeared in films such as “Hairspray” and “What a Girl Wants,” tweeted that despite her relatively young age, her heart is no longer in the profession.
Bynes is quoted in the report as stating on her Twitter account, “Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem… If I don’t love something anymore I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore so I’ve stopped doing it.” The actress further tweeted, “I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first…I’ve #retired.”
As noted in the report, Bynes is set to appear in the new film, “Easy A,” due out in September.
