Dallas, Texas – The release of the iPhone 4 on Thursday produced crowds of eager shoppers at Apple stores across the country. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the demand for the new phone was surprisingly high as some stores sold out just hours after opening. Apple reportedly received over 600,000 pre-orders for those seeking to get the iPhone 4 on the first day of its release.
As noted in the report, Apple employees in stores in Japan, Germany, the United States, France, and the UK kept with tradition and provided waiting customers with refreshments including coffee, water, and bagels. Those who were not able to get their hands on the new iPhone Thursday may not be able to see new orders come in until July.
