New York – Facebook is introducing a new application pertaining to users granting permission for third party applications or websites accessing their information. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the application will require outside applications and websites to identify what user information will be shared for use of certain apps or services.
As noted by the AP, the new policy will require users to grant permission for access or disallow it completely, even if there are only certain aspects of a profile they wish to grant permission for gaining access to.
As further noted in the report, the move comes after the largest online social network in the world received criticism about issues with its privacy settings, and subsequently announced plans to improve them.
