The Three Peaks Challenge is a test of endurance and when done with a team is also a test of spirit and cooperation in trying circumstances. Mr Paul McGuinness recently participated in the Three Peaks Challenge to help boost the funds of the Kabanda Trust, of which his wife is a trustee.
The Kabanda Trust offers practical support for three primary schools in Uganda, a very under-privileged area that has been operating since its foundation in 2006 to develop and promote healthcare and education of children in the area.
During the challenge the weather improved from the initial rainy conditions that made the going tough for the team and two members suffered injury. However, they rose above it and carried on to complete the Three Peaks in twenty-five hours. Terrys Fabrics, based in Stoke and Stockport and with a commanding online presence as a retailer of curtains, Blinds and homewares kept up the good work while their Director faced the pain and discomfort the Three Peaks challenge offers all participants. Determination prevailed and won; the main winners being the children in Uganda at Nansana Royal Primary School, Rock of Joy Children’s Centre and Kakiri Primary School.
