Lagos – The president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, recently reversed a suspension on the national soccer team to compete internationally after receiving numerous posts on his Facebook page. As reported by Reuters, Jonathan stated on Tuesday that the posts influenced him to reverse the two-year suspension imposed after losses in the World Cup.
Jonathan is quoted by Reuters as stating of the matter in a Facebook post, “To Suleiman Musa, Nwanze Francis Uchenna and Ifade Udunayo Peter and the hundreds of Nigerians who appealed to me on this page, I have listened to your voices and those of others… We must now work together to make sure that the Nigerian Football Federation and our players do us proud in future events.”
