Los Angeles – Fox television’s musical comedy hit “Glee” is one of the top nominees for this year’s Emmy Awards. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the show, along with “The Pacific,” “Mad Men,” and “Saturday Night Live” garnered several nominations, which were announced on Thursday.
“Glee” star Lea Michele is quoted by the AP as stating of her nomination, “I’m in such shock.”
Other nominations announced include Sofia Vergara of “Modern Family,” Betty White for her appearance on SNL, Matthew Fox for “Lost,” and former “Tonight Show” host Conan O’Brien for best variety, music or comedy series. Don Mischer, executive producer of the Emmy Awards, is quoted in the report as stating of O’Brien’s nomination following his controversial departure from the show, “Everybody understands what happened…And it was an opportunity for Emmy voters to like give him some support, you know. And he deserved it.”
The 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards are set to air on NBC Aug. 29.
