Los Angeles – The attorney for actress Lindsay Lohan, who was recently sentenced to a 90-day jail sentence, which includes additional terms of rehabilitation and reporting for drug and alcohol testing, has reportedly resigned from her case. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Shawn Chapman Holley withdrew from the case following the release of a statement Thursday regarding Lohan’s sentencing.
Holley, whose replacement has yet to be revealed, is quoted by the AP as remarking in the written statement, “Ms. Lohan and I are extremely disappointed in the sentence handed down by Judge (Marsha) Revel… The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments with court requirements. To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair.”
As noted in the report, Holley was also a member of the defense team on the widely publicized O.J. Simpson case.
