New Orleans – A new cap has been placed on the Gulf oil gusher, inspiring hope that a solution for containing the massive spill may finally work after several weeks of leaking over an estimated million gallons of oil daily. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), tests are now set to begin on Tuesday to check the cap’s ability to handle pressure.
Louisiana shrimper Dwayne Touchet is quoted by the AP as stating of remaining hopeful about the news, “It’s not over, there’s still a lot of oil to clean up. We don’t know how it will affect it (the water) in the years to come, all we can do is trust in the Lord.”
