WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA — A Canadian company that manufactures physical therapy exercise software has reported an increase in new accounts in 2010.
Prognition Corp., the makers of Mavenlive physical therapy software, attributes its success this year to improvements it has made to its product.
These improvement were made as a result of suggestions from Mavenlive users, said Mike Gauthier, Prognition’s vice president of product development.
“It also shows that we are getting better at reaching out and connecting with potential customers,” Gauthier said.
Prognition Corp. launched Mavenlive 3.0 in March and since then, it has gained 121 new accounts, which account for 130 new users. These new accounts represent practices in Canada, the United States, Australia, Egypt, India, Turkey, United Kingdom and New Zealand, to name a few.
The company averages about three new trial signups per day.
“In terms of progress, this is a much higher rate of adoption than we experienced before the release of Version 3.0,” Gauthier said. “We feel that as more people in the physical therapy field use our software, they will spread the word, which should increase Mavenlive’s popularity and the rate at which new users seek to try it for themselves.”
Dr. Jay Winburn, president of Prognition Corp., said he feels the growing interest in Mavenlive shows that Prognition Corp. has improved its exercise prescription software in a manner that is what the market has demanded.
Version 3.0 changes included automatic physical therapy electronic documentation for documents, including letters to referring doctors. The patient information entered into the system by the physical therapist helps generate the documents. Other functionality improvements were made as a result of Mavenlive’s ever-growing user community and their feedback, he said.
This most recent version also includes an assessment system that primarily is point and click, which makes it more user-friendly. Another benefit is its ability to intelligently select rehabilitation exercises based on the patient assessment that is entered into the system.
The Mavenlive 3.0 assessment portion now is editable. This means that if one clinic performs patient evaluations by viewing a particular set of parameters and another clinic uses different factors to evaluate a patient, both clinics still can use the software.
