Mesquite – A Mesquite woman says she received a bill for waiting in the ER. As reported by CBS 11 News, Katheryn Dunn, who visited the Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale for pain, but was purportedly never treated or seen by a physician before leaving due to a long wait, claims to have been billed $197.22 weeks after the visit last month.
Dunn is quoted in the report as stating of the issue, “I think it’s wrong when I called to speak to the billing department about it the first thing they asked is what my insurance provider was… I told her I’m not insured and I’m not giving you that information because I wouldn’t want an insurance company to pay a charge that is not a legitimate charge.”
The hospital has reportedly refused her request to withdraw the bill.
