The blockbuster autobiography “Angelina,” written by New York Times best-selling author Andrew Morton, is flying off the bookshelves.
Already a best-seller on Amazon.com, the book chronicles the superstar Jolie during her rise to fame after trials and tribulations growing up the daughter of Oscar winning actor, Jon Voight.
Featured in the book is big band crooner Brian Evans, who opens for the likes of Jay Leno, Joan Rivers, and Social Distortion.
In the book, Evans recalls bringing her to the premiere of a movie for which he co-starred, “Book of Love,” directed by Robert Shaye, founder of New Line Cinema. Evans acted the part of “Schank,” in the film.
Evans is currently working on his major label debut, which will feature a duet with Kelly Osbourne. Evans began his crooning career in Vancouver alongside fellow crooner Michael Buble. Evans performed on Saturday nights at Babalu Nightclub in Vancouver back in 1996, Buble performed on Sunday nights. The CD is mostly comprised of original music written by Evans, with the exception of the forthcoming Osbourne duet of “Blue Bayou,” and a song written by Ahmet Zappa, son of rock legend Frank Zappa.
Evans has had no public comment about being mentioned in the book, or as to it’s accuracy.
“Brian Evans has no intention of commenting on the book, which includes quotes likely dug up from the past and made to appear as though they were recently said by individuals he likely doesn’t even know anymore, who are looking to exploit Angie’s fame and to make money,” says assistant Mark Biltz. “It’s fun to be mentioned in a book, but only if it’s not something meant to be hurtful, which he surely hopes is not the case for Angie.”
While working on his CD and the upcoming graphic novel “Horroscope,” which he created with Ahmet Zappa, Evans co-produces The Maui Celebrity Series on Maui, Hawaii. On Maui, Evans brings in celebrities to perform with him at The Maui Theatre in Lahaina. This Friday, Evans appears with comedian Tom Green. On Saturday, Evans is presenting rap star MOS DEF.

A reality TV show is currently being developed by Evans, co-executive produced by former “Roseanne” writer and executive producer Tom Arnold, the comedian who has appeared in such films as “True Lies” and “Soul Plane.” Mark Andrew Biltz and Arman Zajic are also listed as producers of the upcoming show, which will follow the producers around the island while they create the monthly concert series held in Lahaina, home to the production “Ulalena,” for which the theatre was built.
The Maui Celebrity Series is currently featured on page 120 in SkyMall Magazine, which is in the seat pocket of every commercial airline flight in the world.
