Los Angeles – A party scene speculated to be deleted from an upcoming Facebook film is set to stay in. As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, the scene, which is stated to depict wild partying by individuals said to have played a role in the initial stages of Facebook, will not be cut from “The Social Network” after all, following concerns from the real life individuals being portrayed.
The film will reportedly chronicle the origins of the widely successful social network, and is based on court records as well as the partially fictionalized “The Accidental Billionaires” by journalist Ben Mezrich.
Spokesman Larry Yu is quoted in the report as stating of the film, “Maybe the movie is a sign that Facebook has become meaningful to people, even if the movie is fiction… What the movie may or may not contain is not what we’re focused on. What matters more is building a useful, innovative service that people enjoy using to connect and share.”
